Blog Master's Comment: The reason why I started this blog 15 months ago was due to false statements made by Kinsman Robinson Galleries, Coghlan Art Studio & Gallery and individuals* (a List of Individuals presented at the end of this paragraph) closely associated with Norval Morrisseau regarding paintings in question. I felt the need to create a platform that will speak for Norval when this priviledge to speak for himself was put in the hands of others that were only interested in their personal financial gain by putting the Legacy of Norval Morrisseau aside.
-
I am dissapointed that Norval Morrisseau Heritage Society is not honouring their mission statement which states:
-
"The Norval Morrisseau Heritage Society was established at the request of Norval Morrisseau to research, document and preserve his artistic achievement and protect the integrity of his art. It seeks to achieve this mission by establishing and maintaining a registry of his works, publishing and updating a catalogue raisonne of his artistic output and providing the necessary expertise to authenticate his art."
-
-Why are they silent? Is their silence approval for what has been presented on www.morrisseau.com? If they truly care in "protecting the integrity of Norval Morrisseau's art" they would need to speak up. Their silence is hurting the legacy of the man they are supposed to protect and the longer they wait to publish a public statement regarding this matter presented herein, the longer the legacy of Norval Morrisseau will suffer.
-
This website www.morrisseau.com is a disservice to Norval Morrisseau, his legacy and the people of Canada. It is full of lies put forth by the people who have little or no expertise to judge the authenticity of Norval Morrisseau's and who are acting only for greed of others using false histories as their methods of deception.
-
I am a strong believer that Norval Morrisseau's Legacy belongs to his people "the Great Ojibway" and to family that bears his name - Morrisseau Family.

>>> IMPORTANT NOTE: The captures of my findings proves one thing only. That Mr. Sinclair is well aware of his 'hypocritical and lying past activities' which have come to the fore in real time 'cought red-handed' as it were in trying to cover up his scheme of 'Norval Morrisseau Art Market Devaluation Attack' but was unsuccessful at deleting critical and damning evidence supporting his slanderous activities.-
-
>>> CLOSING STATEMENT: I am confident that prominent Anishinaabe/Woodland artist Goyce Kakegamic would not put his reputation on line by promoting 'non-authentic' Norval Morrisseau's paintings which proves one more time that Ritchie 'Stardreamer' Sinclair is incompetent to express any opinions when it comes to Anishinaabe art evaluation due to his disrespect to the art of Norval Morrisseau and important figures of the Anishinaabe/Woodland Art Movement such is an Honourable Mr. Goyce Kakegamic.

The below is a brief bio of Mr. Goyce Kakegamic posted at AGORA Online (A Newsletter for Faculty, Staff and Friends of Lakehead University) in an article 'Convocation 2007' .

GOYCE KAKEGAMIC
Doctor of Letters, honoris causa
-
"Goyce Kakegamic was born in Keewaywin in Nishnawbe Aski Territory and attended a residential school for his elementary and secondary education. He continued his education after high school and went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education at Lakehead University.
-
His professional career encompasses three distinct paths – art, education, and politics. Kakegamic is a professional artist whose works have been sold across the country and internationally. As an educator, he has worked in his home community as a teacher, principal, and director of education, and after he left the North, he spent time as an education counselor for the Department of Indian Affairs.
-
He spearheaded the establishment of Oshki-Pimache-O-Win Education and Training Institute, an independent institute to serve the current and future post-secondary education and training needs of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) membership. In addition, he led the fight to better respond to the needs of First Nations. Goyce Kakegamic is the executive representative to the education self-governance negotiations between Canada and the First Nations of NAN which, if successful, could lead to a restoration of First Nations jurisdiction over education.
-
For nine years, Kakegamic occupied the position of Deputy Grand Chief for Nishnawbe Aski Nation. In this role, he has effectively tackled a wide variety of issues – always with the quiet determination that characterizes both his personal and professional lives. Currently, he is focused on addressing high suicide rates among young people."
