... was posted for sale at EMPIRE AUCTIONS in Toronto in 2003. I had called them to say that they were selling a fake Norval Morrisseau painting on their EMPIRE AUCTIONS in Montreal (click HERE) at approximately the same time as the painting presented in this post and they told me that they had received the painting from a "reliable source". In this example also there is no flow, composition and "power" of an authentic Norval Morrisseau painting. Also, the signature in Cree syllabics is writen incorrectly with the fifth syllabic in the shape of a number six (click on the image above to see detail of this discrepency). Shortly after these two paintings were exibited I have never seen Empire Auctions sell Norval Morrisseau's paintings again.
