Spiritually Inspired Jewellery by Zhaawano Giizhik (Part VI)

The inlaid orbs (sun symbols) of red and yellow gold that I connected by means of a free-flowing ‘spirit’ line, symbolize illumination and enlightment.

The flowing 'spirit line' design coupled with the words ziibi (river) and bimijiwan (flowing) refers to a place beyond language, like a Spiritual realm or a ceremony. It also implies the movement of Spiritual energy, which in a Midewiwin context is ritualized in certain secret ceremonies.
