"These paintings only remind you that you're an Indian. Inside somewhere, we're all Indians. So now when I befriend you, I'm trying to get the best Indian, bring out the Indianness in you to make you think everything is sacred."

Have a look at the new paintings offered for sale at Maslak Mcleod. They are on the website for Maslak Mcleod and can viewed by clicking on the Morrisseau painting displayed on the home page. They are very nice paintings - if I could only afford one :(

Sounds like a little self promotion by Maslak?
how pathetic...

Speaking about pathetic, what about self serving statement of the Kinsman Robinson Galleries:

"Morrisseau stopped painting altogether in 2002. In the annals of art history, Norval Morrisseau's paintings from his latter years (the period from 1989 onward) will be revered for their bright, bold colors and innovative shape designs. These masterful works are sure to propel the artist into his rightful place alongside the master colorists of the latter half of the past century."

It seems to me that legacy of Norval Morrisseau needs to ignore paintings from 1950's, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s and concentrate on what Kinsman Robinson Galleries have to offer?

seekingtruth - I am not associated with Maslak McLeod and I posted that comment in Jan. I view this site regularly as a fan of Norval's work. I posted that comment thinking that others who enjoy who enjoy his work may perhaps be interested in seeing them.

Why would someone promoting there own gallery state that they could not afford one? WOuld it make sense to make an auidence think they are too expensive and not affordable?

Good luck finding the truth when you make idiotic statements like that.
