I was shocked to see such an act preformed by Bryant Ross the other day on such a beautiful painting. He looks like a crazy man doing something like that. I think Spirit Walker has really rattled some chains with his postings. The truth does hurt though doesn't it Bryant? I also wanted to say that there were several inconsistancies with Bryants stories. Im never sure which one is real and which one is made up? I wish he would make up his mind and stick to one story here. MAJ looked like he was hiding something. Like he was ashamed of himself deep down inside for lying to himself and to the world. What a sad group of people on that panel. The new title of that painting should have been "CRAZY MAN DESTROYS AUTHENTIC MORRISSEAU".

CARNIVAL PROPAGANDA:

Burning of the books Mr.Ross...?
What's next...Gas chambers?

The key to all of this folks is to make note that Bryant Ross states that he owned this painting now for about ten years and it was purchased from a man in Manitoba(Anthony Martenenko).Shortly after Bryant Ross purchased this painting 'Water Spirits' he was supposedly told by Norval Morrisseau that it was a 'fake'?
Instead of asking for his money back or pursueing any kind of litigation that a normal person would have done,Bryant Ross did something very strange indeed. We will post in our next article in detail what Bryant Ross did instead with this painting. The particulars to this truth is even more shocking than this act of 'desperate carnival propaganda' and will be shown backed up with screen captures as evidence and efficacy to the truth of Bryant Ross' lies...

Don't be alarmed! I have been a fan of your blog since you started it. I have read every post you and MM have made (and that's a lot! lol). You have proven that you are an expert and in fact have pointed that out yourself.

I have tried really hard to understand what is going on in the Morrisseau market place. You have made it clear that you believe that a conspiracy is at work.

I am beginning to think you might be right! The only thing I don't understand is the forgeries. It seems that is the only thing you haven't addressed on your blog. Since you would know a real painting from a fake, you should share that with us. Through your vision, you could teach us what to look for.

This Mr. Ross person has certainly made a point. Since it would be crazy for him to do that to a real painting, I have to think he might be on to something.

Can you do the same thing with a fake?

I really would like to comment on the person that is asking SW to destroy a "fake" Morrisseau". The reason Bryant did this is simple. SW has rocked their boat so to speak and they feel the only way to defend themselves was to destroy a authentic painting. Dont forget, Bryant used Norval for a very long time for personal gain. Im sure Bryant has tonnes of paintings in his possession as KRG does and Gabe. I would like to see Bryant and Gabe have a burn party and destroy a huge collection of those so called 70's paintings. Ruining just one is nothing at all when you have tonnes at your disposal. Also, I am aware of what Bryant did with that painting he destroyed once Norval told him it was a fake supposedly. I wont take away SW thunder, but wait till he posts what Bryants next step was in all of this. Then we will see if he is someone that anyone believes. The problem for all of the KRG and Gabe followers is this. There fearless leaders they have trusted all this time are about to look even worse with the truth behind this. SpiritWalker, please show the Morrisseau world what the "honourable" Bryant Ross did with the painting after Norval supposedly told him it was a "fake"
I bet you are working on a new batch of stories for us aren't you Mr. Ross! If "Morrisseau Detective" Ugo Matulic wasn't on the case, they might actually get away with the smoke and mirrors.
Good work SW,

Jonathan R

I was just looking around at Youtube and saw a disturbing video that StarDreamer( The fraudulent Ritchie SINclair) posted with more of his ranting and raving on Fake and Real Morrisseau's. Ritchie, you are fighting a losing battle. One that will surely take you down as well as the others. Why not just bow out of this while you still have a little dignity left. Its not like you or MAJ will ever have a serious career. Just wantabees chasing after a dream that you will never catch.

What a shameful, classless bunch of baffoons. What a low-life stunt. Thousands of paintings bypassed galleries throughout NM's life. These people talk about provenance but there is no such thing as true provenance for thousands of paintings in the public domain.

Why don't you (Bryant Ross & friends)state the fact that NM painted thousands of paintings and objects that bypassed your greedy hands and went directly to private collectors. You simply keep saying that only paintings with provenance are legitimate. You know this is total B.S.

Collectors will agree that there are fakes or attributions out there, however, to smear every painting that you didn't see ot toch is pure stupidity.

If you really want to honour the legacy of N.M. and put an end to this never-ending fight, stop your self-serving diatribe and meet fact to face with the thousands of collectors that own these works.

Re: Bryant Ross Video on You-Tube

RULE #1 - ONLY GALLERY-BOUGHT PAINTINGS CAN BE REAL.

RULE #2 - ONLY PAINTINGS WITH PROVENANCE CAN BE REAL.

RULE #3 - THE "YOU-TUBE" EXPERTS KNOW REAL FROM FAKE.

Spirit Walker, everyone should listen to the video closely. These actors sound like members of a cult. "lived at my studio for two years", "brothers", "drank my beer". Big deal. You all enjoyed making lots of money on that poor soul's back. Now in his death, you were his best friend.

During these last many decades, how many painings did Morrisseau create without these wanna be's - more than we will ever know. Conveniently, they chose not to show the backside of the canvas. Remember, these are the same people who claim Morrisseau never signed the back of a painting with black paint. Another phony claim to kill the Morrissea aftermarket.

These people continually use the word "provenance". Lord knows how many Morrisseaus never touched a gallery. Kudos for calling many authentic paintings "fakes". NICELY DONE. Especially the one's hanging in National and Provincial galleries.

COME ON EVERYONE, DON'T FORGET RULE #1 - ONLY GALLERY-BOUGHT PAINTINGS CAN BE REAL.

I live in Thunder Bay and am proud to be a collector of NORVAL MORRISSEAU art. As stated in other comments, many N.M.paintings were sold directly to private collectors, like myself, by N.M. when he lived in Northwestern Ontario.
To label these paintings as fake is truly a slap in the face to the memory of Norval Morrisseau.
N.M. was a troubled artist in many ways but he believed in the truth of his art. That being: To paint the teachings of what he saw in his own spiritual world.
The desecration of this painting
by Bryant Ross is an outrage and shows how unworthy he is of any trust shown him by Norval Morrisseau.
In my opinion, Bryant Ross has a hidden agenda only to benefit himself and a chosen few in Western Canada(BC)
Thank you to SPIRIT WALKER for being our NORVAL MORRISSEAU DETECTIVE. You are to be commended
for your work to protect the legacy of Norval Morrisseau.
