BLOG MASTER'S COMMENT: As clearly shown in the invoice presented above this painting appeared in two photographs showing Norval Morrisseau with Hill's Native Art Gallery owner Mrs. Dorothy Martin and his agent, Gabor M. Vadas in December of 2001 at 165 Water Street - Gastown, Vancouver, British Columbia. When this painting was purchased directly from the artist as per their gallery's policy that "Hill's purchases artwork directly from each individual artist and wholesale is not considered a part of their business."-

I like the fact that Hill's Art Gallery is a reputable art dealer and that they purchase their art only and directly from the artists. I think that this is a very good practice that all gallery owners should try to achieve. This would then have stopped any controversy in regards to provenance issues as your painting here clearly shows that you purchased it from Hill's Art Gallery with Norval pictured next to his own artwork.
