An e-mail sent to the Heffel's Auction House /September 12th, 2006/
-
-
As per the above e-mail sent on September 12th, 2006 to the Heffel's Auction House at www.heffel.com it clearly describes Mr. Gabor (Gabe) Vadas' manipulative nature and incompetency to evaluate paintings executed in one of Norval Morrisseau's painting styles that he used mostly in the decade of the 1970's which has become centre stage for this conspiracy by these individuals.
-
In an e-mail sent to Judith (Judy) Scolnik - Director of the Heffel's Auction House (Toronto Office), Mr. Gabe Vadas 'acting on behalf of Norval Morrisseau' wrote the following:
-
-
"Dear Judith,
-
We hope this email finds you doing well.-

Norval Morrisseau and Gabe Vadas here.
-
As you may and may not know there is a problem with fake Morrisseau's on the market. There are hundreds if not thousands of these things out there. These paintings generally are dated as being from the 1970's, the style is distinct. A website that carries a lot of these fake paintings is www.woodlandartgallery.com . 99.9% of the paintings on this website are fakes.
-
Notice the style in these paintings. The faces are squashed, the colors are muddy, the birds are blobs with big huge eyes, and the majority of figures have squashed turbans on their heads.
-
If you have a copy of the National Gallery catalogue please review the page 136, note the transformation piece 'Man Changing into Thunder Bird' dated 1977. This is more representative of my style of the art in '70's. Notice the birds, how much more varied and animated they are, notice the color, it's brighter and image has balance.
-
We have reviewed the Morrisseau art you have up for auction, unfortunately some of the Morrisseau's you have are not authentic. We would like to help clarify which we feel are not Morrisseau's and would sincerely encourage you to not auction these pieces off.
-
The fakes are: #27, #30***, #32, #33, #34, #35.
-
I hope this is helpful. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at any time.
-
Kind regards,
-
Gabe Vadas & Norval Morrisseau"

*** - click to view the image of an authentic Norval Morrisseau's painting titled "Grandfather Speaks of Great Ancestral Warrior" (1977) which Mr. Gabe Vadas labelled as a 'fake' /The same image is included in a recent posting: 'The Genius of Norval Morrisseau' on this blog/

Blog Master's Comment: The painting style that Norval Morrisseau executed with 'Man Changing into Thunder Bird' was just of one of the painting styles that Norval Morrisseau used in the decade of the 1970's. "It is completely out of line to state that it was more representative of his style of the art in 1970's and it's completely a manipulation on Mr. Vadas' part."
-
The website mentioned in Mr. Gabe Vadas' e-mail www.woodlandartgallery.com (currently www.woodlandartgallery.ca ) is of Mr. Gary Lamont a.k.a. Gary Bruce Thacky (Thunder Bay, Ontario) who was a very close and very good friend of Norval Morrisseu who has always kept in high regard Norval Morrisseau from the very beginning of their relationship. Mr. Gary Lamont has a connection with the artist that goes back to the beginning of the 1980's and Norval Morrisseau was a family friend since the early 1960's (click HERE).
-
All the paintings presented now and in the past on www.woodlandartgallery.ca are authentic pieces of art by Norval Morrisseau.
-
Also, I do not believe that Norval Morrisseau would ever describe his art the way it was presented in an e-mail that Mr. Gabe Vadas wrote to Judith (Judy) Scolnik - Director of the Heffel's Auction House (Toronto Office) and direct such a strong statement without expressing his concerns to his very good friend Mr. Gary Lamont who is the owner of the website mentioned by Mr. Vadas.
-
The reason why I started the NORVAL MORRISSEAU BLOG blog 16 months ago was due to false statements made by Kinsman Robinson Galleries, Coghlan Art Studio & Gallery and individuals* (a List of Individuals presented at the end of this paragraph) closely associated with Norval Morrisseau regarding paintings in question. I felt the need to create a platform that will speak for Norval when this priviledge to speak for himself was put in the hands of others that were only interested in their personal financial gain by putting the Legacy of Norval Morrisseau aside.
-
* - Donald (Don) Robinson of the Kinsman Robinson Galleries, Bryant Ross of the Coghlan Art Studio & Gallery & Gabor (Gabe) Vadas, who for the last 20 years of Norval Morrisseau's life functioned as Mr. Morrisseau's guardian, business manager and 'adopted' (although not legally so) son.
-
-
>>> IMPORTANT NOTE: The e-mail sent by Mr. Gabe Vadas to the Heffel's Auction House has been part of a court case 'Otavnik Vs Vadas SC 07-51428-00' presented on this blog (click HERE) - so it is in the public domain for all to view.
-
The same e-mail has been presented in an article about Norval Morrisseau on 'Wikipedia' in a section 'Fakes and Forgeries' completely taken out of context (more about it to be presented in future postings) which has also become the part of the 'Norval Morrisseau Conspiracy' being uncovered on this blog and elswhere.

To be continued...

This letter starts with Norval and Gabe and ends with Gabe and Norval? In this year he 'Gabe' finds himself before Norval. What a joke for a manager of 20 years. What good was he 'Gabe' if Norval pass away with Nothing and not a cent in his accounts or a painting.
