Spirit Walker,

Could you go into detail with why you think the first item listed (and also pictured), "Untitled," is an authentic Morrisseau?
With no date and reverse signature provided, it's tough to trust the eBay listing when there is such a fuss about fakes. And while I love this kind of bird-motif from Morrisseau, the lines in the work don't seem as elegant and strong as Morrisseau's work typically is.

Would love to hear the reasoning from an someone such as yourself!

Thanks,
Interested Buyer

Due to tha fact that Norval Morrisseau executed his art with use of different quality paints and in many different painting styles sometimes is not so easy to determine in which period the artwork was completed. Also, many times he would not inscribe anything on the back of his artworks.

This particular style was more dominant in the 1980's but it is not excluded that he also used it in the dacade of the 1970's as I could see this from some of the artwork from my collection.

If you pay attantion the way fish was painted (see detailed images) and observe the paintbrush strokes... those are the tell-tale signs of genuine Norval Morrisseau painting. Also, 'the feel' I have about it 'is just right' and that's why I incuded it in this week's "Norval Morrisseau 'eBay' Report"

Note: I am basing my opinion on extensive exposure to the art of Norval Morrisseau that includes his artwork from 1952 to 2002.

P.S. If you e-mail me you tel. No. we could discuss it even further if you wish :-)
