"Norval Morrisseau was first discovered outside the Aboriginal world by Dr. Joseph Weinstein and his wife Esther (Netanya, Israel) who lived in Cochenour, Ontario in the late 1950s and early 1960s. They saw in Morrisseau's crafts, that he was selling door-to-door, the potential art... and the rest, as they say, is history."
