Joseph McLeod about Norval Morrisseau Heritage Society (NMHS)

-
The following is Melissa Fung's 'CBC News Report' aired in 2005.

~ Video excerpt prepared by Mr. John Goldi

Mr. Joseph B. McLeod (1928-2017) of Maslak McLeod Gallery, who had started buying Norval Morrisseau's artworks more than 40 years ago stated the following: "I can only believe that there is another purpose in setting up the board (NMHS) and I think it has to do with controling the market."

Click HERE to view a genuine Norval Morrisseau painting titled "Norval Fighting Demon" (c. 1970's) which appears in this video, while Mr. McLeod was being interviewed, which is of the same style as the paintings sold in the past at Randy Potter Estate Auctions.

See Exhibit No. 14 for Kinsman Robinson Galleries' campaign to eliminate the greatest competition which was located just two blocks away: Maslak McLeod Gallery).

~ It was also stated that Mr. Joseph B. McLeod and several other gallery owners filed a complaint to a Competition Bureau of Canada addressing their concern about development in the Norval Morrisseau Art Market.

BLOG MASTER'S COMMENT:

Exhibit No. 14 shown above was part of Statement of Claim for the SLAPP suit that Kinsman Robinson Galleries, Donald Robinson and Paul Robinson launched against the Norval Morrisseau Blog Master, Ugo Matulic in 2010.

--------------------------------------------------------------

The Plaintiffs' concerted campaign of online terror in the form of libel chill is a transparent attempt to monopolize the privileged sale of the Norval Morrisseau's artwork and to silence any of their critics."
(Statement of Defence, Sept. 21st, 2011; ¶ 19, Page 7)

"Contrary to the Plaintiffs' assertions, Mr. Joseph McLeod of Maslak McLeod Gallery, the other most prominent expert in Norval Morrisseau's art considers the paintings in question to be authentic."
(Statement of Defence, Sept. 21st, 2011; ¶ 21, Page 8)
