Norval Morriseau had an exhibition in Thunder Bay on April 4th and 5th, 2002. The exhibition was located in Victoriaville Mall in the Creative display area /Presented paiting is from that exhibition/.
-
Helping with the exhibition were his family members Christian Morrisseau (son), Eugene Morrisseau (son), Christie Kakegamic (grand-daughter), Tammy Morrisseau (grand-daughter), Kyle Morrisseau (grandson), and Joshim Kakegamic (grandson). This series of paintings also have a black print of his thumb alongside his signature.

Help me understand what makes this Morrisseau an original when to my untrained eye it has many of the same characteristics outlined below regarding the Empire Auction Morrisseau. Looking at this one and the date of 2002 - would you expect that assistance was provided to Norval as well?

Spirit Walker(or anyone else knowledgable) - you claim this one is authentic and the Empire Auction one is fake...help educate me, and I am asking you that honestly - why are you claiming one is fake and one is authentic?

I am afraid but you have to wait for an answer just a little bit longer. I could have explained that answer to you right now but I am not willing to disclose number of paintings in my personal collection that would lead to the answer you are looking for.

Just follow the postings on this Blog and hopefully you will be able to find an answer on that question.
