This is one of the better paintings that has been posted on this blog. I don't personally know this painting but it looks good. Is there any known information about the provenance of this piece or if there are any markings on the back?
It would be great if more people submitted pictures of their paintings to this blog. There are so many paintings out there that Morrisseau sold privately and have never been seen by the public. I will be sending some pictures to Spirit Walker for posting. I hope he will accept them as I too only want to honor this great artist.
It appears that this blog is open again. Lets hope that everyone can treat it with respect.

that would be great if spirit walker really was interested in the truth...he clearly isn't. thi blog is a tool used by those few who have an interest in pushing this crap.

just spent some time looking at the paintings in this blog, as well as the ones on ebay and those on the woodlandartgallery.com website.
I would conclude that the ones on woodlandartgallery.com are not painted by the same as the other two.
so I ask, what is real?

suppose christian, david, wolf and eugene can all paint a good 'morrisseau'

some went so far as to stamp their fathers thumb print .....is it a 'real' morrisseau...depends which morrisseau your speaking of

should you ask questions ......better believe it!!!!

Agree with the above...there is a Norval Morrisseau on this website some earlier days that Spirit Walker suggests is an original (Thunder Bay exhibit in 2002 or something). I do not see this painting resembling a Norval but know seeing Christians work - it has more qualities of a Christian Morrisseau. Christian Morrisseau also admits that his father would sign paintings not done for him and/or had assistance with his paintings.

hi, I see you have the counter on your page now. only it does not capture unique IP addresses, if you log out of the net, and then back in, it counts the same computer again.

Spirit Walker said...

No, it counts unique IP addresses or at least this is the way it works on my computer.

Just trying to avoid comments in Childlike Simplicity below and looking for the truth from those that care to share information and knowledge rather then just make big statements, based on nothing and with an anonymous identity.

I can recall lots of pictures of Morrisseau with his brush to a painting of the quality of the brown painting in Twin on the left. I can not recall EVER seeing a picture of Norval associated with or completing a painting of the quality of the Morrisseau on the right. Why is this so - why do all pictures show him completing or working on the quality of the painting that is authenticated as a Morrisseau and never any pictures of the opposite. Perhaps those that say they spend years with him and have acquired paintings directly from working with him can provide some unseen pictures of him working on and/or completing a picture of the quality of painting in Twins on the right?
To all of you adding comments below - have fun spinning out control and really achieving nothing positive.

Glad to see W5 on board. Maybe we'll finally get to the truth!

Anonymous said...

Is W5 on board or have they only been emailed. If they are on board the bunch of you making statements as anonymous better be ready to share your identity if you want to be heard by W5... Do not think we will get any where.

W5 can start with NMHS and work their way down through the ranks.

to under estimate W5 is a mistake.
now we wait.

So if W5 is on aboard are all of you making anonymous statements willing to come forward and stop hiding behind your anonymous statements?

Anonymous said...

the issue is not so much "us" as it is "you"

investigative journalists take a story, and find the relevent facts. this has nothing to do with those who ask questions, and everything to do with those selling them. again you miss the point.

I look forward to hearing if W5 is willing to investigate this as they have no invested interest in the outcome. Great thought - who ever contacted please keep us updated with the response from W5.

The only way to get at cockroaches is to shine a light on them...go U5!!!

I hope, but doubt, W5 will investigate the claims of these so called fake paintings. I also hope they start at the top: The "Management" team of Morrisseau, the caregiver, lawyers, galleries that were appointed etc. These are the individuals that need to be investigated. Check the bank accounts, homes and offshore accounts and much more..THEN we can concentrate on the real paintings
