* Below presented material has been previously posted on this platform

An introduction of an individual who single-handedly caused the greatest harm to the Norval Morrisseau Art Market and whose name is infamously connected with the Legacy of Norval Morrisseau...

... Ritchie R. Sinclair a.k.a. Stardreamer labeling five authentic Norval Morrisseau paintings as "Inferior Counterfeit Morrisseaus" /published in "Norval Morrisseau: Travels to the House of Invention", 1997/ articled below:

>>> Approximately two and a half years ago someone had listed on eBay for sale, several pages from the book "Norval Morrisseau: Travels to the House of Invention". These page images of genuine Norval Morrisseau paintings were screen captured from Ritchie Sinclair's website: www.morrisseau.com and are still active on his website to this present day.

The following are opinions of Ritchie R. Sinclar a.k.a. Stradreamer regarding the paintings from the above mentioned book:

BLOG MASTER'S COMMENTS:

>>> This article was originally posted on April 1, 2009. Where it exposed Ritchie R. Sinclair a.k.a. Stardreamer who had labeled five authentic Norval Morrisseau paintings as "Inferior Counterfeit Morrisseaus". These paintings were published in the "Norval Morrisseau: Travels to the House of Invention", 1997 ; and are still active on his website to this present day. This book had been copyrighted by Norval Morrisseau and Kinsman Robinson Galleries.

The above presented findings clearly show  that Ritchie R. Sinclair aka. Stardreamer cannot be trusted in a professional manner in regards to the art legacy of Norval Morrisseau.

On the same day, Ritchie R. Sinclair, who claims to be a Norval Morrisseau's 'chosen  protégé ' , tried to post the folowing comment which I refused to publish:

"Shouldn't the fact that in my opinion these paintings are fakes and yet I've taken them out of KRG's book tell you something Ugo?
>>>>

I'm on Norval's side...unlike others money has not clouded my judgement...Why?

>>> Because I am an artist >>> The one Morrisseau chose >>> none of you are painters (with the exception of his forger sons) and none of you spent years painting right beside the master.>>>>>>>

I've been very patient with you Ugo because I thought you were worth the trouble.

You have 24 Hours to take down your defamatory statements about me. Alternatively I will have your site taken down and sue you for defamation.

If you think I'm not serious ask your friends how they like dealing with the Canadian Court system and if Ritchie is up to the challenge.

NOTES: Ritchie R. Sinclair has never sued me for defamation.

His accusations would not hold up in a court of law.

For a detailed explanation of the defamation laws of the province of Ontario click HERE to read 'THE LAW OF DEFAMATION' article. The law states: "Truth is a complete defence. Malice does not negate this defence. For the defence to succeed, however, the words must be true in substance and in fact and according to their natural and ordinary meaning."

Robinson having a dinner at Donald C. Robinson's home to commemorate the book launch of the "Norval Morrisseau: Travels to the House of Invention" in September 1997.

Ritchie Sinclair certainly knows how to handle the paint brush. However, being an artist myself who largely draws on the legacy of the late great Norval Morrisseau and the Anishinaabe culture he sprang from, I would not touch Ritchie Sinclair's misguiding opinions on the subject of Noral Morrisseau with a ten foot pole - especially when it comes to his attitude toward Ugo Matulic' motives and his expertise on Norval's art.

Yesterday, Ritchie Sinclair posted a reaction on my above comment. Instead of using the NORVAL MORRISSEAU BLOG, Ritchie Sinclair left his reaction on my own blog, Zhaawano's ArtBlog. Since I don't intend to use my blog for disputes with other artists about Norval Morrisseau, I chose to convert our little conversation to this blog - that is, of course, if the blog owner, whom I hold in high regard, agrees.

"As a legitimate artist who claims to respect Morrisseau it should be obvious to you that Ugo Matulic is the proud owner of hundreds of fake Morrisseau paintings. As such his indignation is logically directed at those who present obstacles to his business.

Should you be fortunate enough to gain some notoriety as an artist then you too may find yourself one day drowning in forgeries of your own work. At that time you'll pray that friends and family stand up for you and your work. I was Norval's friend for 28 years. How much time did you and Ugo spend painting with him?

I expect better out of you than aiding Matulic in attacking me. In the comment you wrote for Matulic you mention that I'm good with a brush. I can handle a pen as well."

My answer to Ritchie:

I haven't found any grammar or punctuation errors in your comment, but that doesn't make you a good writer. A good writer knows that the tone, diction and choice of words should always be well tuned to the mind frame of those the writer attempts to reach. You failed to do so; your words mean nothing to me. They're just words.

To be perfectly clear: I have nothing to add to this and consider this conversation closed.

Ugo, Your continuing excellence in research, intention of honouring the legacy of Morrisseau -and within this framework I have been given the privilege of seeing more of the most beautiful paintings I have ever seen by an artist, in my lifetime. Thank you. Susan Murar, Sculptor.

After reviewing this latest post; how can anyone possibly rely on this individual;Ritchie Sinclair's ability to discern what is a 'real Morrisseau painting' and what is a 'fake Morrisseau painting'? By your screen captures of before and after activities;you have shown that Mr.Sinclair has at many times 'flip flopped' on what he has shown to be an art forgery and later on he has deleted this information off his website after you have discovered the descrepency? It doesn't take much to see that Mr. Sinclair is an angry and envious individual.I am deeply disturbed by his usage of his internet handle'Black Magic'; which we see on his postings hundreds of times over. For an individual who claims to be 'spiritual';how can he justify his usage of 'Black Magic' which is to my understanding used to incure fear and curses through hexes and spells? It would have been much better for Mr.Sinclair and other artists to have concentrated on painting and marketing their own art into the market place than spend all this energy and effort to condemn something they claim to love and respect? The death of Norval Morrisseau in December 2007 could have and should have been used as a launching platform for Canadian Woodland artists to reap the rewards of international fame. All would have profitted;artists and vendors.Fear and envy have become these people's unfortunate masters;coupled with a desire for self allown. Most of these people today I believe see the errors in their ways. Now they are left wondering how they can eat a meal out of the ashes that they created themselves?Hypocrisy makes a poor and tasteless sandwich.

Cheers and goodluck to all!
