Provenance: This painting was originally acquired by Ugo Matulić a.k.a. Spirit Walker, Calgary, Alberta from private collection of Mr. Rolf Schneiders, Thunder Bay, Ontario in 2005. Who then sold it to Mr. Bruce Burt also from Calgary, Alberta. This painting was then sold through the LEVIS Auctions approx. 5 years ago.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: I was very surprised that Mr. Doug Levis decided to withdraw below presented genuine Norval Morrisseau painting from Levis Online Auctions in March 2011; especially knowing that he had been confident in the past selling paintings which were executed in the same painting style Norval Morrisseau used in the decade of the 1970's (click HERE, HERE & HERE).

BLOG MASTER'S CLOSING STATEMENT: Two of three paintings previously auctioned and sold by Mr. Doug Levis at Levis Online Auctions were purchased directly from the artist by Sedna Art Gallery, Banff, Alberta CANADA - GALLERY NOT IN OPERATION ANYMORE (gallery owner was Mr. Nick Lebessis who is currently an owner of the Northern Art Impressions from Lake Louise, Alberta). All of these paintings came from a prominent Saskatchewan/Alberta collection (click HERE & HERE for previously presented posts clearly stating provenances of these paintings)?
